What Snapchat announced

Snapchat keeps your oldest 5 GB of Memories for free. Starting in January 2027, it archives the rest, except Memories less than a year old. They don't get deleted, but to open them you'll have to pay for storage or download them.

    Ask Snapchat for your export

    In the app, go to “My Data”, turn on “Export your Memories”, then pick “Request Only Memories”. It can take up to 7 days, longer for a big export. The 4-step guide shows you where to tap.

What we don't do

  • When we can't be sure of the order of a video's clips, we don't put them back together. They stay as 10-second clips, each with its own date.
  • The tool doesn't work on iPhone or Android yet. Open it on a computer, in Chrome or Edge.

Before you start

Can you see my photos?

No. The tool reads your ZIPs in your browser. Your photos and videos never leave your computer, and neither do their file names. We count visits, the steps of the journey (tool opened, ZIPs dropped, email requested), recaps shown and payments, and Cloudflare measures page traffic, with no cookies and nothing from your export.

I don't have my export yet

Request it now. The 4-step guide shows you what to turn on. It can take up to 7 days, longer for a big export. It often comes as several ZIPs. Keep them all, you'll drop them in together.

Does it work on my phone?

Not yet. You need a computer with Chrome or Edge, because the tool saves a whole folder to your drive. From your phone, you can send yourself the link and open it later on your computer. No computer of your own? Someone else's works, with nothing to install. Afterwards, delete your ZIPs from their Downloads folder; if you paid on it, their browser stays unlocked. The iPhone and Android guides then show how to put your Memories back on your phone.

What if it doesn't work on my export?
